    Icon2 Free Domain Registrar

I was searching a bit last week to find a free domain registrar site. After few days of search, yesterday i got to know about one site - co[dot]cc but without knowing anything about that site how can i register my domain?

I'm having a blog under blogspot[dot]com should i setup my domain with a co[dot]cc? What all benefit i'll get if i register my own domain with co[dot]cc? Need a advise before registration.

    Thanks
    kmamaji

But I agree with Dave about other free offers but this co.cc is a real big company. And still whatever be the thing, I also agree that you don't have full control on the domain, suppose if the company is sold, you might loose the domain.
You are not paying anything, so how can you even expect to have full control.

If you have even $1, you can buy a .info domain from godaddy .
The main reason for going with co.cc domain is because its free, short, its better than blogspot subdomain domain. You can redirect your whatever.blogspot.com to whatever.co.cc if you want.
Yeah! But Dave had some really good points in against of these free registrar which then changed my mind from registering a domain for free to registering a domain for dollars.

Ill have to agree with my man Dave here other then the fact that I actually use a .co.cc sub domain, a top level domain or .com, .net, .org are 100% better, why cause they can be submitted to the search engines, and sub domains cant, also you cant get a site rank cause it will automatically take you to the rank of the provider that you got the sub domain from. It shows there rank not yours so don't get excited lol, you can never see your trend rank, it sucks i no i have one, also you don't have a who is or let me explain, you cant view how your site is scored by seo tools. I suggest buying a top level domain its better in every way. Your man uberiss

100% agree with Uberiss and Dave.

Simply dont opt for free in those cases. The reasons are obvious, and if they are not just search
sites with those kinds of extentions in high ranks, there are very very few and this shows something.

Better get a good traditional domain with a dot.com and a normal name.

I heard a story one time that this person got a free domain offer, I think it was game related,
well the domain got popular, like 100,000 hits per month, or something to that nature, well the
domain owner decided he wanted to find another host, then found out he did not really own
the domain, and this is where blackmail starts to play a role, now that the real owner of the
domain knows the stats this other guy was making, he does not allow him to keep the domain.
I am not sure how the end played out, but this person got the domain as a free domain to
signup for hosting, but never actually got DNS info, so when the domain got popular the
original owner took the domain back, and screwed the guy the built the gaming site from the
ground up, so do not fall for those free domains lures...You may have limited access to change
your DNS, unless they actually give you the domain, and once your domain becomes popular
they take it back, and try to sell you the domain. It is better just to buy your domain outright.

Oh man it sucks to be him in that case!
I feel bad for that person but let this be a lesson to all of us!

I apologize for the horrible post wrapping. I am not even sure how that happened. The post
wrapper for this theme is awuful, and I try to correct/edit content that has bad post wrapping,
as it does not make for a good read when you are trying to read from sentence to sentence with fractured sentences, sorry about that, be sure to send me a pm for thread correction.
